Now that we’ve officially been in business for over 12 months, we’ve been doing a bit of reflecting… and shit. What a year.
Here are some of the biggest things we’ve learnt:
Nothing prepared us for the little wins. Things we used to rush past in previous roles, a smooth claim, a happy client, now are celebrations. When it’s your own business, the small wins hit differently.
Pride becomes part of everything. Every policy, every email, every phone call, every late-night admin task, it’s all us now. That ownership has made us better, sharper, more thoughtful.
Mondays feel exciting. We get up genuinely looking forward to working with our clients and building something we believe in. Not many people can say that.
Our conversations changed. Instead of talking about work like it’s separate from life, we’re constantly thinking, tweaking, improving. The chats we used to find exhausting are now energizing, because they’re for us, our clients, and our brand.
Efficiency became a mindset. We’re always asking: How can we make this simpler? Faster? Clearer? Better for our clients?
Flexibility matters more than we imagined. No stress when the kids are sick. No guilt for putting family first. No missing school events, games, assemblies or those little moments you don’t get back.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted, supported and cheered for us this past year. We couldn’t have done it with the support of our families, our friends and our clients.
To Insurance Advisernet, their leadership team, and the entire IA network, thank you. Your support, guidance and encouragement have been invaluable this past year. We couldn’t have built Arbor the way we have without the genuine community IA provides.
And to our fellow brokers across the network, the phone calls, shared knowledge and laughs have meant more than you know. We’re incredibly grateful to be part of such a supportive group of professionals who always put clients first.
We built Arbor Insurance to create a business that supports people, our clients, our community, and our own family. And after 12 months, we can confidently say: we nailed the “why.”
We’re just getting started.
